Our Favourite Coffee Shops in Westmount:
Greene Avenue & Victoria Village
There’s something about a great neighbourhood coffee shop that becomes part of your routine, the place you stop by on your way to work, meet a friend between appointments, or simply grab your usual without having to think twice.
For us, coffee in Westmount usually means one of three places. From Samara’s love of a proper Italian coffee at Olympico to Alexandra’s go-to stop right across from the office, these are three local favourites we genuinely come back to again and again.
Olympico
An institution for Montreal coffee lovers, Olympico is easily one of Samara’s favourites.
She has always been into Italian-style coffee, and Olympico is exactly what she looks for: simple, strong, no-fuss coffee and an atmosphere that feels lively at almost any time of day. It’s the kind of place that works just as well for a quick espresso at the bar as it does for sitting down and catching up.
And when we say Samara loves coffee, we mean it.
For Samara, Olympico is the go-to when she wants a proper coffee. A cortado is usually the order, although probably not the only coffee of the morning.
5 Saisons
If Olympico is Samara’s favourite, 5 Saisons has naturally become one of Alexandra’s regular stops.
Located right across from our office, it’s almost impossible not to make it part of the workday. But convenience is only part of the reason we keep going back, the coffee is genuinely very good.
It’s perfect for a quick stop before heading into the office, grabbing something between appointments, or taking a few minutes away from the desk. Having a neighbourhood spot this good just steps from where we work is one of those little things we’ve come to appreciate about spending our days in Westmount.
Alexandra is definitely not competing with Samara’s three-coffees-before-10-a.m. routine. Most days, it’s a decaf, with an occasional cappuccino when the mood calls for it.
Cafe 1303
Cafe 1303 is another Greene Avenue spot that fits perfectly into the neighbourhood.
It has a relaxed, welcoming feel that makes it an easy place to stop whether you’re grabbing something to go, meeting someone for coffee, or simply taking a break while walking around Westmount.
What we like most is that it feels very much like a neighbourhood café, casual, familiar and part of the rhythm of Greene Avenue. It’s one of those places that adds to what makes the area so enjoyable on an everyday basis.
More Than
Great Coffee
One of the things we love about Westmount is how much of daily life happens within the neighbourhood.
You can grab your morning coffee, walk to local shops and restaurants, head to the park, and still be only minutes from downtown Montreal. Greene Avenue and Victoria Village are a big part of that lifestyle and these small local favourites are part of what gives each pocket of Westmount its own personality.
For us, knowing a neighbourhood goes far beyond knowing its real estate. It’s knowing where to grab a great coffee, which streets you love walking down, and the places that make an area feel like home.
